Ashleigh and Ashley tie the knot

My first time capturing a wedding where the bride and groom shared first names! I travelled over the mountains from sunny Greymouth to find Christchurch in a grey drizzle. But, just like my last wedding the week before, the rain cleared in time for the outdoor ceremony and photos to go by without a hitch, leaving everyone dry and happy.

Highlights of this wedding for me - the grey, brooding skies, the wild wind which added such flair to the bride's full dress, the ceremony in the Red Zone at the grandparents' old home location - such a special way to honour them, and the fun-loving bride, groom and bridal party - a real pleasure to photograph. I'm guessing this wedding is the beginning of a life together that is filled with laughter, even when the skies are grey!
